Simulate high-stress situations with the award-winning P80 SIMone birthing simulator! Using patented haptic response technology, SIMone gives trainers and students a realistic, unique, and unrivaled training experience heightened by a specially developed visual and audio interface.
SIMone's patented force feedback mechanism allows the trainee to confidently learn and develop the skills necessary for performing complicated procedures. SIMone gives the opportunity to practice an instrumental delivery in a realistic manner - over and over again with little or no setup time! The P80 is designed so that in less than 60 seconds a new birthing scenario can be initiated. SIMone also trains students in:

  • Recognizing the right moment to select a vaginal assisted delivery
  • Correct handling of medical instruments for delivery
  • Assessing position of fetal head in relation to the maternal pelvis
  • Labor management using a partogram
  • Medication administration to achieve progress during delivery
  • Interpreting fetal heartbeat and uterin contraction through a CTG
  • Interpreting respiratory sounds
  • Interpreting the sounds of pain experienced by the mother
SIMone is a model of a female abdomen with a vulva and the spina ischiadica as landmarks. Inside the simulator is a fetal head with the sagittal suture and fontanelle for determining the position and approach of the head.  The touchscreen monitor displays an exact image of the position and rotation of the fetal head within the maternal pelvis. 3B Scientific's monitoring software provides information on the progress of the birth and allows training in intervention both through the use of medication and the use of vacuum or forceps. A variety of customizable delivery scenarios are presented in the monitoring software so that modified model-based training is possible. Additionally, the cardiotocograph and partogram support the assessment and progress of the delivery scenario. Administration of medication or amniotomy are interventions that may be used in order to achieve the necessary progress during the delivery.
