Purple Cloud ointment was created in China 350 years ago to treat inflamed or infectious skin conditions. Today, this popular formula is still widely used to treat eczema, dermatitis, and conditions such as dry, cracked, inflamed, irritated skin lesions, itching, cold/hot/sun burns, and insect bites. Its effectiveness comes largely from the interaction of its 2 ancient Chinese herbs, Zi Cao and Dang Gui. Purple Cloud ointment is also useful for use in direct moxibustion by helping adhere cones on points, aiding in healing, and preventing scars. Available in 0.5 oz jars.
Functions of Herbs in Formula
* Zi Cao clears heat; cools the blood; promotes blood circulation; promotes the expression of skin eruptions; eliminates toxicity; topically clears damp-heat from the skin.
* Dang Gui nourishes blood; promotes blood (and Qi) circulation; harmonizes the blood; relieves pain; moistens the large intestine; disperses cold; reduces swelling; expels pus; generates flesh.
To Use: Apply to the affected area as often as needed per day.
