Description

Naturally chelated, low dose lithium.

Lithium, a trace element found throughout nature and is present in all organs of the body, has long been considered a foundation in the treatment of bipolar depression and plays a significant role in healthy mental function, including support for healthy mood, emotional wellness, behavior and memory.‡

Scientists have found that binding small quantities of lithium with orotate salts – in the form of lithium orotate – can effectively deliver lithium to the brain in dramatically lower doses and with fewer side effects.  Highly bioactive with greater efficacy, much less lithium orotate is needed in order to achieve therapeutic results.‡

Studies have shown that natural supplementation with lithium not only balances mood disorders in the bipolar (depressive/manic) spectrum, but also dramatically affects suicidal ideation, aggression, violence, and criminal behaviors stemming from emotional, psychological, environmental and even genetic roots.‡

Mechanisms of action for this involve affecting dopamine and serotonin neurotransmitter activity.  Lithium also affects gene expression of natural organic detoxification isoenzymes in the brain, including glutathiones-transferase (GST).  This offers important neuron antioxidant protection, which may also contribute to healthy spatial memory.  In scientific studies, lithium has shown not only to protect neurons from damage and death, but to also alleviate damage by stimulating new nerve cell growth and actually result in a measurable increase in gray matter visible in MRI imaging.‡
