Description

A Dr. Mitch Fleisher, MD Signature Product

QB-Zyme Pro® is a unique enzyme-based formula designed to support a healthy histamine response to environmental stressors such as pollen, dust, etc. that would traditionally elicit a negative response in people.

QB-Zyme Pro® has additional benefits in supporting healthy inflammatory responses in the sinuses, bronchi and lungs as well as other tissues in response to acute or chronic environmental stressors and/or injury.  Quercetin is a flavanol bioflavonoid with very potent antioxidant properties, and supports healthy inflammatory responses via a number of mechanisms including histamine, leukotrienes, etc.  Quercetin activates glutathione peroxidase and scavenges hydroxyl and superoxide free radicals.

Bromelain is a general term for a family of closely-related, sulfhydryl-containing, proteolytic enzymes derived from pineapple stalks.  It also contains a peroxidase enzyme, acid phosphatase enzyme, several protease inhibitors and calcium.  The majority of the physiological activity of bromelain occurs as a result of multiple factors, including, but not exclusively, its proteolytic enzyme function.

Bromelain exerts an inhibitory influence on proinflammatory prostaglandin synthesis and decreases serum and tissue levels of bradykinin and kininogen, thereby reducing inflammation, swelling and pain due to infectious, post-traumatic and post-surgical causes in all body tissues and organ systems.

Papain is a proteolytic enzyme derived from the papaya fruit that has significant antioxidant properties and supports a healthy inflammation response.  Papain, especially when administered in conjunction with bromelain and pancreatin, supports a healthy inflammation response.

Pancreatin is a potent, concentrated, glandular extract of porcine pancreas that contains amylase, lipase and proteolytic enzymes. Along with bromelain and papain, it augments the absorption of quercetin.

Rutin is a hydroxylated flavanol bioflavonoid that is a glycoside of quercetin.‡
