Twilight Time™ - 1017

Description

Twilight Time™ is a unique formulation that helps to promote serotonin production in order to support a restful sleep.‡

L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that the body requires to synthesize proteins and specialized molecules such as the neurotransmitter serotonin.  Serotonin appears to play significant roles in sleep, emotional moods, pain control, inflammation, intestinal peristalsis, and other body functions.‡

The terpenes, part of the pleasant smelling volatile oil from lemon balm, are thought to produce this herb’s relaxing and gas-relieving (carminative) effects.‡

L-Theanine is an amino acid found in tea that is said to help relieve stress.‡

Hops are high in bitter substances known as humulone and lupulone.  These are thought to be responsible for the appetite-stimulating properties of hops.  Hops also contain about 1–3% volatile oils.  Hops have been shown to have mild sedative properties, although the mechanism is unclear.‡

Normally, the body secretes melatonin for several hours per night.  Studies using melatonin for insomnia have reported good results.  Many doctors suggest 1–3 mg of melatonin taken one to two hours bedtime.  Adults with insomnia have been shown to have lower melatonin levels.  Frequent travelers and shift workers are also likely to benefit from melatonin for the resynchronization of their sleep schedules.‡
