Description

New Mood™ is a unique dietary supplement design to support healthy mood and healthy stress levels thereby providing healthy emotional balance and sleep naturally by using botanical ingredients and amino acids.‡

The major constituents in St. John’s wort include hypericin and other dianthrones, flavonoids, xanthones, and hyperforin.  Current research has shown that constituents such as hyperforin, and flavonoids support healthy mood levels.  Test tube studies suggest that St. John’s wort extracts may exert their antidepressant actions by inhibiting the reuptake of the neurotransmitters serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine.  This action is possibly due to the constituent hyperforin. St. John’s wort is able to act as an antidepressant, by making more of these neurotransmitters available to the brain.‡

Hops are high in two primary bitter constituents are known as humulone and lupulone and also contain about 1–3% volatile oils.  Hops have been shown to have mild sedative properties, although the mechanism is unclear.‡

For many years, plant researchers believed that a group of harman alkaloids were the active constituents in passion flower.  Recent studies, however, have pointed to the flavonoids in passion flower as the primary constituents responsible for its relaxing and anti-anxiety effects.‡

L-Theanine is an amino acid found in tea that is said to help relieve stress.‡
