An Ischial Lift is a 4" x 5" square firm to soft rubber pad measuring from 3 mm – 12 mm in thickness It is used most frequently with an individual that is suffering from lumbar rotary scoliosis and is required to spend a great deal of time in the sitting position An example would be when the individual is sitting on the Ishial Tuberosities and they are level because of the surface upon which they sit The anterior interior movement of the sacrum to the right which increases the lumbar rotary scoliosis to the right is only aggravated by this sitting position By placing the Ischial Lift under the right tuberosity, you may stabilize the sacral level, reducing the lumbar strain, and decreasing the symptoms
